领 lǐng "to receive, lead" + 悟 wù "to awaken, realize": to take in and awaken to, i.e. to grasp, to comprehend, to attain insight. Korean renders it as "realization, insight". Clearly understanding a hidden principle or meaning with the mind (领悟道理 to grasp a truth, 有所领悟 to gain some insight). Unlike 体会 (felt through direct experience), 领悟 leans toward intellectual insight into a principle or meaning. 领 means "to receive, lead" (领导, 领会); 悟 means "to awaken, realize" (觉悟, 醒悟).
