Typhoon

A typhoon is a strong tropical low that forms over warm seas of about 27°C or more. In the Northern Hemisphere it spins counterclockwise; the eye is calm while the eyewall just outside holds the worst wind and rain. The right-hand semicircle relative to motion is more dangerous because wind and motion add, and landfall cuts off moisture so it weakens.
