Mnemonic

Tsutaeru (伝える) is an ichidan transitive — merging "to convey / deliver (a message)" and "to pass on (across generations)." Intransitive pair: tsutawaru (伝わる, be conveyed). Kare ni tsutaeru (convey to him, message), dentou o tsutaeru (pass on tradition). Kanji 伝 = 亻 (person) + 云 (a contracted form of "speak / convey") — "a person transmits through speech." Cluster: dentou (tradition), dengon (message), densetsu (legend), denki (biography). The ~o tsutaeru collocation spans message, feeling, technique, tradition — Japanese unifies the verb and varies the object where Korean splits jeon-ha-da / jeon-su-ha-da.
