Mnemonic

そして soshite — a core Japanese conjunction meaning "and then," connecting in time and logic. Register matrix: soshite (general narrative) / sorekara (time sequence "after that") / mata (addition "also") / sara ni (Sino-Japanese formal "furthermore") / sorede (result "so, and then"). In writing and storytelling, soshite is the default for layered information — sets narrative rhythm. In speech it is often dropped or replaced by de / sorede — colloquial simplification. Korean "geurigo / geureoko / geuraeseo" and Chinese 然后 / 而 split similarly, but Japanese register splits are finer. PATCH-4 v3 note: conjunction matrix needs spoken / written awareness.
