Collocations

Mnemonic

それで sorede — kanji it (それ) + で (result particle) = "and so / as a result". Japanese conversational conjunctions: それで (neutral consequence + flow), そして (soshite, "and then" formal), だから (dakara, strong cause-effect), ですから (desu kara, polite). Also a listening tool — 「それで?」 alone means "so?" prompting the speaker to continue. Key conversational verb. Foreign learners often try 1:1 mapping to English "and / so / therefore" — Japanese splits 4-5 ways finer. PATCH-4 v2: study the conjunction cluster together.
