Mnemonic

日 rì "day" + 趋 qū "to hasten toward, tend": tending in a direction day by day, i.e. growing increasingly ~, trending toward. Korean renders it as "day by day, increasingly". It is nearly the same as 日渐, but because of 趋 (to head toward) it more strongly conveys a clear lean toward a direction (激烈, 稳定, etc.). It is followed by an adjective or verb. 趋 means "to hasten toward, tend" (趋势 a trend, 趋向 inclination).
