见 jiàn "to see" + 解 jiě "to interpret, resolve": a thought formed by seeing and interpreting, i.e. a view, an opinion, insight. Same as the Korean word gyeon-hae (見解). It refers to a personal opinion formed by one’s own seeing and understanding of a matter (独到的见解 an original insight). It is not a mere report of fact but a subjective judgment carrying interpretation. 见 means "to see, meet" (看见, 意见); 解 means "to interpret, understand" (理解, 解释). It connects with 意见 but with a deeper sense of insight.
