Mnemonic

反 fǎn "to oppose, against" + 感 gǎn "to feel": a feeling that goes against, i.e. aversion, antipathy. Same as the Korean word ban-gam (反感). The feeling of rejecting and disliking a person or behavior one finds disagreeable (引起反感 to provoke aversion, 令人反感 to be off-putting). It is the opposite-direction feeling from 共鸣 (resonance). 反 means "to oppose" (反对, 反抗); 感 means "to feel" (感觉, 情感). It is the antonym of 好感 (a favorable feeling).
