World of Insects

Insects are the small animals we see most often all around us. Like ants, butterflies, and dragonflies, an insect's body has three parts, the head, thorax, and abdomen, and six legs. Insects each do important work in nature, such as carrying pollen or breaking down fallen leaves. Here you can look at an insect's body part by part and check where the legs and wings attach.
