grade 1 Plants Around Us

The trees, flowers and vegetables around us all start from a single small seed. A seed in the soil sprouts when it soaks up water and gets warm enough; the sprout then grows a stem and leaves in the sunlight, blooms, and bears fruit. A plant's body has roots, a stem, leaves and flowers, and each part has its own job. Step through the stages in the picture to see a plant grow from seed to fruit.
