Sentence structure
Key sentences split into meaning units, showing the role of each part.
수업은 매주 토요일 오후 두 시부터 네 시까지입니다.
Subject수업은"class" (sueop-eun, topic)
Modifier매주 토요일every Saturday
Modifier오후 두 시부터from 2 pm, start "-buteo"
Modifier네 시까지until 4, end "-kkaji"
Predicate입니다formal copula "is"
The pair "-buteo ... -kkaji" means "from ... to," marking a range. Here it frames the time span (du si-buteo ne si-kkaji, from 2 to 4). The topic "-eun" sets up "the class," and the formal copula "imnida" closes the sentence.
자리가 많지 않으니까 빨리 신청하세요.
Subject자리가"seats/spots" + subject "-i"
Clause많지 않으니까negation "-ji anta" + reason "-(eu)nikka"
Modifier빨리adverb "quickly"
Predicate신청하세요polite request "apply"
Two endings stack here. "-ji anta" negates ("manchi anta," not many), and "-(eu)nikka" gives a reason, "because." Korean often uses "-(eu)nikka" before a command or suggestion, so "because there are not many spots, apply quickly" leads naturally into the request "-(eu)seyo."
