Mnemonic

いい — いい(良い), Yamato. An irregular i-adjective. The most common Japanese adjective, and also the most twisted in its conjugation — plain form: いい ii ── everyday speech. written form: 良い yoi ── formal, written register. All inflected forms come from the よ stem ── negative: よくない. past: よかった. adverbial: よく. te-form: よくて. ii cannot inflect itself; it borrows yoi's stem for every conjugation — the first scenery of Japanese irregular morphology. A soft daily word for 'good / OK'. The single line いいですか? ("Is it OK?") is the doorway into Japanese conversation.
