営業 eigyou — 営 (to manage, to operate) + 業 (work, business). Both kanji are read on-yomi. It covers two senses: a shop being open and operating, and the sales division of a company. Add する for 営業する (to do business, to run a shop). The "open hours" sense appears in 営業時間 (business hours).
