Densha — 電 (electricity) + 車 (vehicle). "Electric vehicle" by kanji; in everyday speech, the train. The 電 you hear in densha is sibling to the Korean "jeon" and the Chinese "diàn" — Sino-Japanese kinship. The 電 itself: rain (雨) over a flash (申).
