推 tuī "to infer" + 论 lùn "to discuss, argue": to infer and conclude, i.e. an inference, a corollary. Same as the Korean word chu-ron (推論). A conclusion logically derived from known premises or theorems (逻辑推论 logical inference, 得出推论 to draw an inference). Close to 推理 (the reasoning process), but 推论 weighs more toward the conclusion or corollary obtained. 推 means "to infer" (推理, 推断); 论 means "to argue" (论证, 结论). It follows from a 定理.
