Mnemonic

体 tǐ "body" + 会 huì "to understand, grasp": to grasp through the body, i.e. to appreciate from experience, to realize firsthand. Korean renders it as "to appreciate, realize from experience". Coming to know something felt in the heart through direct experience (亲身体会 to appreciate firsthand, 深刻体会 to realize deeply). Unlike 领悟 (grasping a principle with the mind), 体会 leans toward emotional, experiential knowing. 体 means "body, experience" (身体, 体验); 会 means "to understand" (会议, 领会).
