前 qián "front, ahead" + 景 jǐng "scene, view": the scene laid out ahead, i.e. prospects, the outlook, the foreground. Korean renders it as "prospects, outlook". Two shades: the development outlook of a business or market (市场前景 market prospects) and the foreground of a photo or painting (照片的前景). Compared with 前途 (a person’s future), 前景 leans toward an objective outlook or picture. 景 means "scene, situation" (风景, 景象).
