Mnemonic

接 jiē "to join, connect" + 连 lián "to link continuously": joined without break, i.e. one after another, in a row, successively. Korean renders it as "one after another, in a row". An adverb for the same thing happening repeatedly without a gap (接连下雨 to rain on and on, 接连不断 ceaselessly). It is close to a synonym compound. 接 means "to join, receive" (连接, 接受); 连 means "to link, continuous" (连续, 连接).
