光 guāng "light" + 荣 róng "glory": shining glory, i.e. honor, glorious. Korean yeong-gwang (榮光) means the same but with the characters in reverse order (Chinese 光荣 vs Korean 榮光). It is used for collective or social honor and proud states (光荣传统 glorious tradition), as distinct from the personal greeting 荣幸.
