党 dǎng: a single character "(political) party". A political association. 政党 (party), 党员 (party member), 入党 (to join the party). Tone note: 党 (dǎng) differs from 当 (dāng, to bear) and 挡 (dǎng, to block), hence the slug suffix -party. A kind of 团体, but a political one.
