成 chéng "to accomplish" + 就 jiù "to achieve, attain": to accomplish and attain, i.e. an achievement, an accomplishment. Same as the Korean word seong-chwi (成就). The fine results or accomplishments won through effort (取得成就 to make achievements, 重大成就 a major achievement, 成就感 a sense of achievement). Used as both noun ("achievement") and verb ("to accomplish"), as in 成就事业 (to make one’s career). In the same domain as 业绩 and 功绩. 成 means "to accomplish" (成功, 完成); 就 means "to attain" (就业, 成就).
