卑 bēi "low, base" + 鄙 bǐ "vulgar, mean": low in character and vulgar, i.e. despicable, base. Korean does not use 卑鄙; it renders this as bi-yeol (卑劣). A negative trait of one who uses dishonorable means (卑鄙小人 a base person). 卑 means "low" (谦卑 humble); 鄙 means "vulgar, rustic".
