Division Basics
Division splits a group of things equally to find how many go into each bundle. If 12 cookies are shared among 3 friends, each gets 4, written as 12 ÷ 3 = 4. It is multiplication in reverse, so knowing 3 × 4 = 12 tells you 12 ÷ 3 = 4 too. Drag the sliders for the total and the number of groups to see how the sharing works.
