Even these words you're reading came over from some computer far away to your screen. How do computers far apart talk to each other? That connection is exactly a network.
To a faraway friend
With just my one computer
I can write and draw on my own.
But what if I want to send
that writing to a friend far away?
The two computers need
some path that links them.
Once that path exists,
I can finally say something.

becomes a signal, and crosses.
The computer on the other side
turns that string back into letters to read.

If only two computers are linked,
just those two talk.

what happens if you link them all together?
Wires and signals weave like a web,
so starting from any computer
you can reach the one you want.
